BEFORE YOU COME IN
Your first session.
A first visit is a long conversation with a prescriber. It is not a quiz, and no one will push you toward a prescription.
Before the visit
The office confirms a time and sends a link to the practice's patient portal for your forms. Bring a list of what you take, including supplements.
At the visit
You and your prescriber talk through your history, what has helped and what has not, and what you want from care. Any decision about medication comes after the evaluation.
After the visit
You leave with a written plan and a date for a follow-up. If you start a medication, the plan says what to watch for and who to call.

WHAT TO EXPECT
What the first visit includes.
What to bring
Everything you take now, in the bottles or on a written list, and the names of other clinicians you see.
Your insurance card, if you have one
A list of your questions
How long it takes
A first visit is longer than a follow-up. The office tells you how long yours will be when it confirms the time.
Who you see
One of our clinicians, in person. Follow-up visits can be by video for people located in California.
Paying for the visit
How a visit is billed depends on your plan and how you pay. We give a written estimate in advance to anyone paying without insurance.
How fees work
Before your first visit.
Do I need to stop my medication before the visit?
No. Keep taking what you take now and bring the list, unless a clinician has told you otherwise.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, if you would like. Your prescriber will also make time to talk with you on your own.
Will I leave with a prescription?
Not always. Prescribing decisions come after an evaluation, and some people leave with a plan that doesn't include a new medication. The prescribing policy explains how we decide.
The door is open.
Send a message and the office will reply with a time, what to bring and how billing works.
